Chicken Salad Chick Bel Air: Where It's Going and When It Opens

Chicken Salad Chick is coming to Tollgate Marketplace in Bel Air, in the same row of shops as Mission BBQ. No opening date has been announced yet, but the shopping center's leasing map marks the space "signed lease/opening soon."

Here's exactly where it's going, what it serves and what's still not known.

Where exactly is it going?

Tollgate Marketplace is the big shopping center at Rt. 24 and Bel Air Road, with Sprouts, Michaels, Dick's and TJ Maxx. Chicken Salad Chick is going into a smaller row of shops on the Veterans Memorial Highway side.

From one end, that row goes Mission BBQ, &pizza, MyEyeDr, Noodles & Company, then Chicken Salad Chick, then Saladworks. So it's not right next door to Mission BBQ, but it's a short walk down the sidewalk.

The space is the old Firehouse Subs spot. It's about 3,000 square feet.

When does it open?

No official date yet. The leasing map from the shopping center's agent, updated in August 2026, lists Chicken Salad Chick as "signed lease/opening soon."

Restaurant dates move around a lot before opening day. As soon as the company or the owner posts a real date, I'll update this post.

What is Chicken Salad Chick?

It's a fast-casual spot built around one thing: chicken salad. The company says it makes more than a dozen chicken salad flavors from scratch. The menu also has side salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts.

Its stores offer dine-in, take-out, delivery and catering. Good to know if you've got a shower, a team lunch or a game-day spread coming up.

Is there one in Maryland already?

Yes. Maryland's first Chicken Salad Chick opened in Westminster in February 2025. The owner, Paul Weitz, said he planned more stores in the Baltimore area.

So if you can't wait, Westminster already has one open.

Why this is good news for Bel Air

Tollgate Marketplace already has a lot of good lunch options. Adding one more fast-casual choice means more variety in one stop, whether you're grabbing lunch on a work break or after a shopping trip. More choices, more reasons to shop local.
