Tips for cutting your own tree

  1. Go early in the season for the best pick.
  2. Measure your ceiling first. Trees look smaller in a big field. Trust me on this one.
  3. Bring gloves and a tarp or rope for the car.
  4. Ask if the farm will net or drill your tree.
  5. Call ahead if the weather is bad.

What to do with your tree after Christmas

Harford County doesn't run trash pickup. Private haulers do. So curbside tree pickup depends on your hauler. Call them.

You can also drop off a bare tree (no lights, ornaments or stand) at a county yard trim site. Bring a Maryland driver's license to show you live here.

Questions? The county's solid waste line is 410-638-3018.

Living near the tree farms

Most of these farms are in North Harford, around Street, Jarrettsville, Darlington and White Hall. Think rolling hills, farms and more room. Bel Air is a short drive away. Thinking about a move up that way? Call or text me at (443) 617-2099, or see my agent page.
