In sales through September 2026, the typical home sold for about $556,000 to $560,000 in Fallston and about $272,000 to $276,000 in Edgewood. Bel Air, Abingdon, Havre de Grace and Aberdeen landed in between. Prices rose in Bel Air and Edgewood, dipped in Abingdon and Aberdeen, and were mixed in Havre de Grace and Fallston.

Homes took longer to sell in most of these ZIP codes than a year ago. And the 30-year mortgage rate dipped to 7.32% in Freddie Mac's Oct. 22 survey.

What were home prices in each Harford County town in September 2026?

Here's the quick version. I checked two different data sources for each ZIP code. Redfin uses MLS and public records. TopHap uses deeds recorded with the county. They don't match to the dollar, so I show both as a range.

Town (ZIP) Median sale price (range of 2 sources) Price vs. a year ago Homes sold (3 months) Median days on market
Fallston (21047) $555,667 to $559,960 Redfin down 3.2%; TopHap up 6.9% 40 (28 a year ago) 19 (41 a year ago)
Bel Air (21015) $456,667 to $474,860 Up 5.5% to 10.5% 116 (111) 31 (30)
Bel Air (21014) $441,667 to $454,866 Up 4.7% to 6.3% 125 (129) 22 (13)
Havre de Grace (21078) $397,330 to $418,872 Redfin up 2.2%; TopHap down 1.5% 100 (85) 41 (42)
Aberdeen (21001) $367,892 to $375,405 Down 0.7% to 2.9% 114 (110) 20 (11)
Abingdon (21009) $345,367 to $349,897 Down 6.6% to 6.7% 122 (115) 38 (25)
Edgewood (21040) $271,920 to $275,833 Up 1.3% to 1.8% 61 (52) 29 (15)

What the columns mean:

  • Median sale price: Redfin's number covers the three months ending September 2026. TopHap's comes from deeds recorded through September 2026, and it uses a three-month average for its change vs. a year ago. Using a few months of sales means one odd sale doesn't swing the number much.
  • Homes sold and days on market: These come from Redfin only, for the same three months. TopHap doesn't track days on market. Treat these two columns as one source.
  • County view: For the whole county in September alone, Bright MLS put the median at $403,495. I covered that in my Harford County market update for September 2026.

Which Harford towns went up in price, and which went down?

Up in both sources: Bel Air (both ZIP codes) and Edgewood.

  • Bel Air 21015 rose 5.5% to 10.5%.
  • Bel Air 21014 rose 4.7% to 6.3%.
  • Edgewood rose 1.3% to 1.8%.

Down in both sources: Abingdon and Aberdeen.

  • Abingdon fell about 6.6% to 6.7%. Both sources agree on this one.
  • Aberdeen slipped 0.7% to 2.9%.

Mixed: Havre de Grace and Fallston. One source shows a gain and the other shows a drop. Fallston also has few sales, just 40 in three months per Redfin. With that few sales, a couple of big or small homes can move the median a lot. So I'd call both towns flat for now.

Are homes taking longer to sell in Harford County?

In most of these ZIP codes, yes. Here's Redfin's median days on market, three months ending September 2026, vs. the same stretch last year:

  • Bel Air 21014: 22 days, up from 13
  • Abingdon 21009: 38 days, up from 25
  • Aberdeen 21001: 20 days, up from 11
  • Edgewood 21040: 29 days, up from 15
  • Bel Air 21015: 31 days, about the same as 30
  • Havre de Grace 21078: 41 days, about the same as 42
  • Fallston 21047: 19 days, down from 41

More homes also sold in most of these ZIP codes than a year ago. Bel Air 21014 was the one dip, 125 vs. 129.

So buyers are still buying. They're just taking more time to decide.

What is the mortgage rate right now?

Freddie Mac's survey put the average 30-year fixed rate at 7.32% as of Oct. 22, 2026. That's down from 7.40% the week before. A year ago it was 6.19%.

Freddie Mac posts a new number every Thursday at noon Eastern. Your rate depends on your credit, down payment and loan type, so get a real quote.

What would the monthly payment be in each town?

Here's the math on each ZIP code's Redfin median, with 20% down on a 30-year fixed loan. This is principal and interest only. Taxes, insurance and HOA fees are extra.

Town (ZIP) Price used At 7.32% (Oct. 22, 2026) At 6.19% (a year ago) Difference
Fallston (21047) $559,960 $3,077 $2,741 $336 more
Bel Air (21015) $474,860 $2,610 $2,324 $286 more
Bel Air (21014) $454,866 $2,500 $2,226 $274 more
Havre de Grace (21078) $418,872 $2,302 $2,050 $252 more
Aberdeen (21001) $367,892 $2,022 $1,801 $221 more
Abingdon (21009) $349,897 $1,923 $1,713 $210 more
Edgewood (21040) $271,920 $1,494 $1,331 $163 more

That's the real squeeze right now. Prices in most towns didn't jump much. The rate did.

What should buyers do with these numbers?

  1. Look at the town, not the county. Abingdon prices fell about 6.7% while Bel Air 21015 rose 5.5% or more.
  2. Use the extra time. Homes in most of these ZIP codes sat longer than last year. That can give you room to ask for repairs or help with closing costs.
  3. Get a payment quote at today's rate. Shop at least two lenders.
  4. Check the street, not just the ZIP. A ZIP code median mixes townhomes, condos and single-family homes.

What should sellers do with these numbers?

  1. Price off your own ZIP code and your own street. The county median won't fit every town.
  2. Plan for a longer wait. In Abingdon and Edgewood, the typical home took about two weeks longer to sell than a year ago.
  3. Remember who's buying. At 7.32%, every $10,000 on the price changes a buyer's payment by about $55 a month with 20% down. Buyers notice.
  4. Get the house ready before you list. Clean, repaired and well-photographed homes still sell.

Bottom line

Harford County isn't one market. It's a bunch of small ones. Bel Air and Edgewood prices are up. Abingdon and Aberdeen are down a bit. Havre de Grace and Fallston are flat to mixed. Homes are taking longer to sell in most spots, and rates are the main thing holding buyers back.
