New Construction Homes in Harford County: Where to Look This Fall (2026)

New homes in Harford County start around $366,000 for a townhome and go up near $800,000 for a big single-family home. I found 7 communities selling right now in Bel Air, Abingdon, Havre de Grace, Joppa and Aberdeen.

Here's where they are, what they cost and what to ask before you sign.

Where can I buy a new home in Harford County?

Here are 7 communities I checked on Oct. 24, 2026. "From" means the builder's lowest listed price that day.

Prices change fast. Builders add lot premiums, options and incentives. Treat these as a starting point, not a quote.

What's the cheapest new construction in Harford County?

On my list, Greenway Farm in Havre de Grace. D.R. Horton lists its 4-bedroom garage townhomes from $365,990.

Ridgely's Reserve in Joppa is next, from $399,988.

What new homes are in Bel Air?

Two on my list.

Bell's Tower. 38 garage townhomes off W. Wheel Road by Ward Communities. From $459,990. I wrote a full guide: Bell's Tower townhomes.

Roberts Crossing. Single-family homes by Richmond American, about four miles east of downtown Bel Air. Three two-story plans, each listed from $799,999. The builder says the plans come with finished basements.

What about Abingdon?

Laurel Oaks by Keystone Custom Homes is off Hookers Mill Road. The builder says it has 136 homesites, about a third of an acre each on average. Plans start at $691,479. Keystone says Phase 1 is almost sold out.

Havre de Grace new homes

Greenway Farm by D.R. Horton. Townhomes with 2-car garages and 4 bedrooms. From $365,990.

Bulle Rock by Ward Communities. Villas from $524,990 and single-family homes from $529,990, per the builder. Some villa listings on the MLS show prices a bit under that. Ask which one is current.

Joppa and Aberdeen

Ridgely's Reserve in Joppa by D.R. Horton. From $399,988.

Grace Woods 55+ in Aberdeen by Ryan Homes. This is a 55+ community with single-level homes. Ryan says the single-family section had sold out, and one quick move-in home is back on the market at $499,990. Ryan also sells 55+ villas there.

Is new construction worth it right now?

It depends on your numbers. Here's how I think about it.

The good: - Everything is new. Fewer surprise repairs for years. - Builders often offer incentives, like help with closing costs or a lower rate through their lender. Ask what's on the table this month. - You may get to pick finishes.

The trade-offs: - The base price is not the final price. Upgrades add up. - Some new communities have HOA fees and a yearly front foot fee. - A to-be-built home can take months. You need a plan for where you live until then.

Mortgage rates matter here too. The 30-year average was 7.32% on Oct. 22, per Freddie Mac. A builder rate buy-down can be worth a lot. Get it in writing.

What should I ask a builder before I sign?

1. What's the full price with the options I want?
2. What incentives do I get, and do I have to use your lender?
3. What's the HOA fee and what does it cover?
4. Is there a front foot fee? It's a yearly charge in some new Maryland communities that pays back the cost of water and sewer lines. Maryland law says the builder must disclose it in the contract.
5. What's the build timeline? What happens if it runs late?
6. What's the warranty?
7. What schools? Check the address yourself with the HCPS school locator.
8. Can I bring my own agent? Ask about the builder's agent rules before your first visit.

Yes. Bell's Tower by Ward Communities has garage townhomes from $459,990. Roberts Crossing by Richmond American has single-family homes listed from $799,999.

Is there a 55+ new community in Harford County?

Yes. Grace Woods 55+ in Aberdeen is a Ryan Homes community with single-level homes and villas. As of Oct. 24, 2026, Ryan listed one quick move-in single-family home at $499,990.

What is a front foot fee on a new home in Maryland?

It is a yearly charge in some newer communities that repays the cost of water and sewer lines. Maryland law requires the builder to disclose it in the sales contract.

Should I use my own agent to buy new construction?

I think so. The builder's sales team works for the builder. Ask about the builder's agent registration rules before your first visit.
