Want to give back in Jarrettsville, Street or northern Harford this holiday season? Call Mason-Dixon Community Services in Street. They match local families and seniors with sponsors who give a holiday meal and gifts. Then bring a bag of food to Eden Mill Fall Fest on Nov. 7.

Up north, neighbors take care of neighbors. Here's how to jump in. I list dates only when the group has posted them for 2026.

This is part of my county guide, How to Give Back in Harford County This Holiday Season.

  • Senior Secret Santa: Seniors on low incomes get a holiday basket or help with winter utility bills.
  • Toys for Tots: They hand out toys to kids 14 and under in December.

My Take

Northern Harford is spread out, so pick the spot on your way. Drop a toy at the Jarrettsville Library, then grab a sandwich at the Jarrettsville Creamery and Deli. Or adopt a family through Mason-Dixon and make one family's whole Christmas.
