The Nest on Main

The Nest is a good stop when you need a gift for someone who "has everything." It carries candles, barware, kitchen goods, Maryland-themed items, books, games, stationery and baby gifts. Here's the move: pick out a basket, and the Nest will put a gift together for you. They also offer free in-store pickup on online orders and sell gift cards.

A surf boutique right on Main Street. You'll find shop tees, hats, clothing for men and women, footwear, jewelry and surf and paddle gear. Their site sells gift cards too, which is an easy win for teens. Their site was showing a #shopsmall code for 10% off when I checked. Confirm before you go.

The Downtown Alliance says parking is on the street, in town lots and in the Bel Air Parking Garage on Hickory Ave. Parking is free on weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekdays. Before 5 p.m. on weekdays, use the ParkMobile app.

My simple Main Street plan

1. Park in the Hickory Ave. garage on Saturday morning.
2. Hit the Belle Aire Holiday Market first, from 9 a.m. to noon.
3. Walk Main Street to The Nest, then north to StaleFish and The Pink Silhouette on N. Main.
4. Grab lunch on Main. One option: Rocky's on Main.
